Studio Fotonokka

Fotonokka is a Helsinki-based photography agency representing a carefully curated mix of emerging talents and established artists. The challenge was to rebrand the agency in a way that highlighted its diverse roster while reinforcing its position as a premium, internationally recognized brand.

Inspired by the photography term f-stop – which controls light and focus – the new identity reflects how photographers shape perception through their craft. Just as each f-stop (f/N) influences the look and feel of an image, each artist in Fotonokka’s roster brings a distinct photographic style. This idea is captured in the bold, contemporary brand mark, symbolizing the power of photography to illuminate ideas and tell compelling visual stories.

The letter “f” followed by a slash serves a dual purpose, representing both f-stop and Fotonokka’s role as an umbrella brand for a diverse group of artists. Its design, inspired by the aperture blades inside a camera lens, reinforces the brand’s deep connection to photography.

The final identity is striking yet understated, allowing the artists’ work to take center stage. A refined, minimal color palette and elegant typography enhance the brand’s premium feel, ensuring Fotonokka remains both recognizable and adaptable across different applications.
